The Empire State Building Submits to Islam

The Empire State Building Submits to Islam
by Pamela Geller18 Jul 2015
Not one day – not twenty-four hours after the Chattanooga jihad mass murder – the symbol of American individualism, capitalism, and the capital of the world, the Empire State Building, one of the foremost symbols of American freedom, celebrated the Muslim “holiday” of Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is the most violent month of the year in the Islamic world, because Ramadan is the month in which Muslims renew their devotion to Allah, and violent jihad is a supreme act of devotion to Allah.

All told, 2,988 people were shot, burned, blown up, beheaded, or hacked to death in the cause of Islam during this “holy” month, with 3,696 wounded, beating last year’s savage human toll of 2,429, with 2,028 wounded. This is not political correctness; this is sharia adherence. Wherever your sympathies may lie, the idea that the Empire State Building would turn green for Eid not a day after five U.S. soldiers were murdered in cold blood in the cause of Islam on American soil is surrender. We have indeed been conquered.

Wouldn’t it have been appropriate and respectful for the owners of the Empire State Building, in honor of our fallen heroes, if they had to commemorate Eid at all, to drape the Empire State Building in red, white and blue? What “moderate Muslim,” what Muslim of conscience, would have or could have objected?

And while the Empire State Building lights up for Christmas, Easter, and Hanukkah, that is not the same as lighting up for Eid. The religions are not equivalent, and the holidays aren’t, either. Christians aren’t slaughtering people worldwide in the name of Jesus, and Jews aren’t slaughtering people worldwide in the name of HaShem. To reward those who are killing us is madness, or at very least, a massive willful blindness. Of course, not every Muslim is responsible for jihad attacks, but until Muslim communities in the U.S. start fighting actively against the jihad doctrine that justifies all this violence, Islam shouldn’t be celebrated.

Devout Muslims across the world, and most particularly those of the Islamic State (ISIS), have exhorted the Muslim faithful to behead and slaughter in the month of Ramadan. ISIS released a video promising that, according to Islamic scripture, “the reward for the good deed of jihad is doubled in the month of Ramadan.”

The ISIS savages declared in a video: “The Lord has commanded his servants to observe the fasting [of Ramadhan]. The vast majority of the Muslims have observed this [fast], obeying what the Lord has commanded them. The Lord has also commanded them to fight for His sake. But this command has been neglected by the vast majority of the Muslims. Only the mujahideen for the sake of Allah have observed both commands. May the month of fasting and Jihad bring blessing upon them.”

And now, it not only has brought them “blessing” over a pile of dead bodies, but the Empire State Building’s honor and commemoration. Can you imagine the celebrations in savage quarters upon seeing the Empire State Building lit up in green for Eid, while the bodies of the dead in the latest jihad attack on Americans are still warm?

This is not tolerance. This is surrender.

The Empire State Building refused to light its crown in order to celebrate Mother Theresa’s 100th birthday. But Eid? Of course! What possible justification could these craven quislings have for such betrayal?

The privately-owned building receives hundreds of requests each year to light up for various causes and events, almost all of which they summarily turn down. They saw fit to light up in the cause of Islam, crowning an unfathomable tower of human flesh and blood.

I love this city. But I am appalled and ashamed that the Empire State Building is kneeling before those who have plotted and planned to destroy it. The thousands of victims of the September 11, 2001 jihad attack on New York City are turning over in their graves – that is, those who even had body parts to bury. I shudder to think what it is going to take for people to recognize the reality of jihad. But make no mistake about it: the jihad is coming – because of our weak and feckless political elites and their shadowy, well-heeled backers.

Sharif El-Gamal gains full control of Islamic museum site
Developer pays Con Ed $10.7M for fee interest on 49-51 Park Place; all lawsuits settled

Sharif El-Gamal now has full control over the site of his upcoming Islamic museum at 49-51 Park Place, The Real Deal has learned. El-Gamal’s Soho Properties, which had a long-term ground lease with Consolidated Edison for the Lower Manhattan site, just closed on the fee interest for $10.7 million.
In a statement to TRD, El-Gamal said today that “we are pleased to have concluded a complex acquisition from Con Edison allowing us to complete the assemblage for our upcoming development at Park Place. This further exemplifies our strength as a buyer of real estate from institutional sellers.” El-Gamal will build a three-story Islamic museum and prayer space at the site, which will be designed by Pritzker Prize-winning French architect Jean Nouvel.
In 2009, Soho Properties paid $700,000 to assume control of the ground lease. In 2011, Con-Ed sued the developer for allegedly owing $1.7 million in back rent at the site. Representatives for Soho said today that all lawsuits relating to the site have now been settled.
The site, formerly known as Park 51, was the centerpiece of a fierce debate over religious freedoms in 2010. The development, originally slated to be a $140 million, 15-story project, attracted the ire of former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich, as well as anti-Islam firebrand Pamela Geller. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, however, threw his full support behind the plan, which eventually fell through due to lack of financing.
