In the July issue of Atlanta Magazine, new CARE CEO Michelle Nunn says her middle school son, Vinson, gave her career advice after she lost the 2014 Georgia Senate race. He ruled out a career in basketball (‘you’re too old to do something in that) but finally suggested ‘you’re good at helping people.” Agreed. Nunn comes to CARE after leading Points of Light, a volunteer organization, for seven years. That “experience combined with her elevated national profile from the political campaign, put her on the shortlist of potential candidates to replace Helene Gayle,” the article reads.  “The mobilization dimension of the campaign, getting people involved and talking them into the spirit of citizen engagement, I think ties into CARE’s work and its mission to galvanize global citizenship,” Nunn says.
