Two Honolulu City
Council members have dropped their proposal to rename a beach after Obama
after the public reacted negatively to the idea.
Most of the comments have raised the issue of historical and
cultural sensitivity, and a number of alternatives have been suggested by the
public," City Council member Ernest Martin said in a statement,
noting that "public reaction to the proposal has been mixed."
Obama was filmed body surfing on the beach in 2008.

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Although the
legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama’s birth certificate has become a focus of
intense speculation – and even several lawsuits – WND has learned that Hawaii’s Gov. Linda
Lingle has placed the candidate’s birth certificate under seal
and instructed the state’s Department of Health to make sure no one in the
press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.
