Time for the Tea Party to ride to the sound of the guns!

Time for the Tea Party to ride to the sound of the guns!

There is an old military saying, “don’t wait for orders.  Ride to the sound of the guns!”   Since the Tea Party is a leaderless organization, there is no one to give the orders, but regardless, we all need to ride to the sound of the guns and the guns are in Minnesota.
What is going on and why must we win this fight?
The fight in Minnesota is the first skirmish as the left tries a technique to fight back against the gains made by real Americans as we fight back against socialism.
Minnesota has now gone into a government shutdown.  It is a war between the Republican controlled legislature and the extreme left wing governor Mark Dayton.  Dayton is one of those useless individuals who has never worked a day in his life.  He is an heir to the Dayton department store fortune.   He is a far left lunatic who believes in massive government spending and confiscatory taxes on the wealthy (i.e. anyone with a job).
Dayton got his job the old fashioned way.  He bought it.  With his massive fortune, he did not waste his time doing fundraising.  He self funded his campaign.   In 2010, Republicans swept the legislature in Minnesota. Tom Emmer came within 9,000 votes of giving the Republicans complete control of the Minnesota government, but the RINOs bolted and 11,000 of them voted for a “moderate” named Tom Horner.
The Minnesota state legislature offered a reasonable budget this year.  It would increase spending by 6% and all of that spending would be covered by growth in revenue so there would be no tax hikes.
This was not good enough for Dayton who demanded a 15% budget increase, which would have to be paid for by increased taxes.    Dayton’s tax hikes would have hit everyone but he said they were for the “wealthy.”
Dayton had plenty of time to negotiate with the legislature and legislative leaders even signaled their willingness to sit down with the governor.  According to sources in Minnesota, the differences between the governor and the legislature on most of the bills were not that great and the legislature even offered a bill to keep the lights on as they worked on resolving the differences.
The governor said no and shut the government down.
In Minnesota, the friendly media and liberal non-profit groups are dominating the airwaves, blaming the shut down on the GOP.
Some are pointing out this may well be a strategy to try and defeat the Republicans in 2012.  In 1995, Bill Clinton triggered a government shut down.  Thanks to a friendly media, Newt Gingrich and the Republicans got the blame.
We have to help conservatives in Minnesota.
We have to bypass the regular media and use social media to get the word out.  Use Facebook, Twitter, websites, any social media that you have available to you to spread the word that this shut down is a power play by a liberal Democrat governor to try and get a liberal Democrat legislature elected in 2012.
Many people, particularly those in Minnesota are only going to get their information from the media.  Their opinions will be formed by what they hear, unless we can change that.
We dealt with this in January when the left immediately tried to blame conservatives for the shooting of Congressman Gabriel Giffords.  We pushed back and that story died.
We must push back now with this story.  We cannot allow the socialist governor of Minnesota to create a crisis and blame it on conservative Republicans so the far left can gain a political advantage in 2012.
Yesterday, on TPN, we asked where is the Minnesota Tea Party?   Members from one large group have been in touch with TPN and some good things are starting to happen, but our friends in Minnesota need our help.
Let’s get out there on all of the social media and tell everyone what is really going on.  Winning this one in Minnesota can stop it from being tried in other states!
AMERICANS FOR HONEST GOVERNMENT
