For Muslims, loyalty to the Ummah ('brothers and sisters in Islam' - the global Muslim community) trumps and overrides ALL other loyalties and obligations.
Of course, he was raised by not one, but two muslim fathers. Maybe that's why sitting in that church for 20 years, he never once heard Rev. Wright's damning of America, and why he's taken over a year to find a new place to "worship."
